So many of my gal pals have taken my beauty advice that I found it prudent to write an article already! Below are the tips I give to all my friends, and though this article’s a little broad, there’s something for everyone here.
- If you’re tired of waxing or plucking hair on your upper lip, stop. First, it’s always going to keep growing back, and getting rid of it is always going to hurt, so try something else out. How about bleaching? Usually, women who bleach their lip hair never turn back, because it virtually solves the problem with little maintenance. If you really want to get rid of it, try out chemical hair removers. They’re like Nair, but most don’t smell as bad! Ask a dermatologist for recommendations.
- For fine lines, invest in a luminizer. It’s shimmery, and though it won’t fix a line, it will soften it and actually make that patch of skin look gorgeous. I recommend Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil for $19. If this is too high for your budget, visit a cosmetics counter and ask what your options are. They’re popping up all over the place, so it won’t be hard to find.
- If you need to fix dark circles, I hope you’re a tea drinker! Make a cup of tea in the morning and at night. In the morning, take the tea bag (once you’ve made the tea) and place it on your left eye for 20 minutes. Then do the same at night with the right eye. After two weeks, you should see a difference!
- Lastly, when it comes to plucking those eyebrows, don’t forget to stand a little further back from the mirror than you want to. Standing too close often results in over-plucking, which is irreversible! To make it hurt less, hold your skin taut. The tighter the skin, the less it hurts. If you just start pulling hair out willy nilly, it’ll kill! Lastly, don’t forget this crucial tip (it’ll make anyone’s brows look amazing) – NEVER pluck the night or right before a special occasion! Do so at least three days before, so your skin can have time to even out and your brows will be even. Otherwise, you run the risk of your makeup clashing with your irritated skin. If you forget, but still need to straighten them out, use a comb coated in hairspray to coerce them into the direction you’d like, and pluck later!
