Get Demi’s X Factor Makeup

Watching The X Factor and checking out the new judges, I was struck by a few things. First, there the surprise of how well Britney took to judging. Second, did you see the incredibly trendy Demi Lovato? She pulled off so many hair, makeup, and fashion trends that I lost count. Every time the camera turned to the judges, I couldn’t take my eyes off of Demi’s bright, fun makeup. Here’s how to get the look yourself.

Start by prepping your face with primer and foundation. A smooth, even complexion will help your bright makeup do the talking, as opposed to your jumbo zit.

Demi’s eyebrows are flawless. Make sure yours have a killer arch and no stray hairs, then fill them in with an eyeliner pencil a shade darker than your hair color.

Use Make Up For Ever in Soft Pink 97 all over the lid and up to the brow bone. To add that bright pop of color, use Neon Pink 75 in the crease and in the outer corner. Put a dab of Yellow Gold 10 in the center of the eyelid, then use Lemon Shimmer 101 in the inner corner of your eye and a dot underneath the arch of your eyebrow. The light Lemon Shimmer color will make your eyes look bigger and brighter.

Demi has some major eyeliner. To achieve that perfect cat’s eye flick at the outer corner, first use an eyeliner pencil to draw a line with an upward curve at the end along your top lash line. Trace the line with liquid eyeliner like Maybelline Line Stiletto in Blackest Black. The pencil will give you more control over the line, but the liquid liner will give you more emphasis.

There are some major eyelashes being rocked in this look, so unless you have ridiculously long lashes, you’ll have to get some fakes. When buying, look for lashes with lots of length, like Sephora’s Astonish lashes. Apply mascara to your natural lashes first, then, holding the set of false lashes with a pair of tweezers, apply lash glue to the strip. Wait a minute for the glue to get tacky, then carefully apply the lashes as close to your lash line as possible. Use an eyelash curler to curl your lashes and the falsies together.

Continuing the bright neon look, apply a bright pink blush to your cheeks like Dior’s Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush in Petal.

To keep the bright look going, you’ll need a bright lipstick. For a matte pinky-coral like Demi’s, try Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick in Bold.

Keep in mind that The X Factor footage was filmed back in June, so the bright look is pretty summery. Despite fall being around the corner, I think you can rock the bold colors for a while longer. Just do it with confidence and no one will question you!
