Kid Cudi: “Indicud” Album Review

in category of Music, Remy Carreiro

I will say this right off the bat to get it out of the way: Kid Cudi is on some “other level” ish. When most rappers are rapping about women and cars, Cudi rhymes about fighting his inner demons. Don't get me wrong, Cudi still loves the ladies and lets us know that regularly, but he really is on another level. His last two albums set him apart from his mainstream hip-hop brethren by showing us more introspection, absolutely sick, progressive beats, and a penchant for making hooks so catchy they stay in your brain for weeks at a time (looking at you, “Pursuit of Happiness”).Read More »

Happy Birthday, Willow Smith

in category of Music, Tracey Vest

Willow Camille Reign Smith, better known to us as Willow Smith, was born October 31, 2000, to musician-actor Will Smith and actress-singer Jada Pinkett Smith. Like her older brother Jaden and half-brother Trey, Willow followed in both of her parents’ footsteps in music and acting. An impressive fact I learned from Wikipedia is that Smith and her brothers are youth ambassadors for Project Zambia, which provides assistance for Zambian children orphaned by AIDS.Read More »

Taylor Swift Tells Ellen She’s Had Enough!

in category of Music, Audra Rundle

Taylor Swift’s dating life gets as much attention as her music these days – probably because they are so intertwined. Perhaps no one is more interested in who Taylor is dating at any given moment than talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen gave Taylor such a hefty dose of good-natured grief about her long trail of boyfriends in their interview this earlier this week that Taylor finally broke down and said it was making her feel like a bad person.Read More »

Music Review: Eye Empire’s “Impact”

in category of Music, Melissa DeLara

What makes Eye Empire stand out? Aside from being one of the most hard-working and talented bands in the music industry, it is their intense passion for the music and their fans — embodied in their mantra “Love, Respect, Support” — that truly sets this rock band apart from the rest. Earlier this year, Eye Empire released its first album, titled Impact, a double disc featuring 19 new songs, plus three acoustic versions, and two live recordings for a total of 24 tracks.Read More »

Taylor Swift is Seeing “Red”

in category of Music, Audra Rundle, celebrity news

Look out, world. Taylor Swift appeared bright-eyed and red-lipped on Good Morning America yesterday just as her latest album, Red, became available to purchase. The always-perky 22-year-old also donned a bright red knee-length dress with a high neckline and elbow sleeves, proving sexy does not have to equal skimpy. Just another reason I like her.Read More »

Willow Smith Covers Adele’s “Skyfall”

in category of Music, Audra Rundle

Willow Smith released a new YouTube video of her apparently jamming alone in her basement, but it’s a far cry from your average tween trying to sing a current hit song. Willow isn’t just good – she’s amazing.Read More »

Have You Gone Classical?

in category of Music, Abby Lee Hood

I think that it’s a sad thing to hear someone say classical music is “elevator music.” Young people seem to be the most disinterested in listening to the great works of classical composers (more about that term in a moment), and because of that, they’re missing out on a world of emotion, beauty, great music, and education. You see, listening to classical music has many benefits, and by calling the music “boring” and signing it off, you’re losing those benefits.Read More »

J Biebz’s New Song is Really Not that Much Better

in category of Music, Abby Lee Hood

You may have recently heard about Bieber’s fiasco on stage during a concert. He got sick and vomited, but kept on dancing and singing. Well, his voiceovers were singing…the man himself was busy retching.

Anyway, since that little escapade, we hope Justin is feeling better. He might be doing that right now, because his new single just released and is already garnering the millions of views we know it’s bound to get, especially since it features a particularly popular female singer.Read More »

Gaga Vomits Four Times on Stage

in category of Music, Abby Lee Hood, celebrity news

Lady Gaga is probably best known for her taste in fashion, but I think it’s pretty clear that she’s popular for her extreme amounts of dedication, devotion, and responsibility to her fans. In a recent escapade on the stage, she proved her talent and work ethic yet again when she got sick but kept on performing.

The pop queen vomited four times on stage, but didn’t break a sweat. She kept on singing and dancing, getting right back into the dance choreography for the show.Read More »
