Arrow Recap: “Pilot”

in category of TV, Arrow, Melissa DeLara, recaps

If you are looking for a superhero with an edge, Arrow definitely hits the mark! Similar to Christian Bale’s portrayal of Batman, Stephen Amell delivers an aggressively convincing performance as an antihero with a serious chip on his shoulder. CW fans will recognize Amell from his past appearances on The Vampire Diaries and 90210. When he isn’t breaking bones as Arrow, he is breaking hearts as Oliver Queen, a billionaire playboy with a reputation for partying and womanizing.Read More »

Vampire Diaries Season Four Premiere Recap: “Growing Pains”

in category of TV, Jordan Alexis, recaps, Vampire Diaries

Last night was the season four premiere of The Vampire Diaries and, as expected, it revolved heavily around whether or not Elena would complete the transition to become a vampire. Elena, who died with vampire blood in her system in a car accident caused by Rebecca, on Wickery Bridge in the final moments of last season, wakes up in the early phases of her vampire metamorphosis. As we already know from past experience, to complete the transition to full-fledged vampire, a newbie needs to feed on human blood within the first day of transition or they will wither and die.Read More »

Beauty & the Beast Premiere Recap

in category of TV, Jordan Alexis

The story starts in 2003 – we can tell the year based on the Train song playing in the background and the fact that the heroine is driving a VW Bug. Kristen Kreuk, formerly of Smallville, plays the main character, Catherine. She’s just started working at a bar and in 10 seconds of forced dialogue with another bartender, we know she’s an Ivy League-educated law student. She closes up alone at her co-worker’s request, but her car won’t start in the creepy, deserted lot, so she calls her mom rather than AAA for a jump.Read More »

Reagan and Chris let their daughter Amy sleep in their bed, and now she refuses to sleep in her own. While at the library looking for parenting books on the subject, they run into Jerry, Chris’ unlikeable college roommate. They get roped into attending Jerry’s upcoming pig roast. 30 Rock Ep. 2 Recap

in category of TV, 30 Rock, Colleen Walsh-Jervis, recaps

After Skyping with Romney’s horse, Rafalca, Jack learns that vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan has dropped out of the race because it is revealed that he was born in Kenya. Despite the upcoming presidential race, Jack asks Liz not to include any political sketches on TGS because it would give the show’s network a boost. Community fans have been on a roller coaster for quite some time. Ever since it went on hiatus last season, we’ve been in constant fear that our beloved show would be cancelled. in category of TV, Colleen Walsh-Jervis, tv recaps

This week, we join the elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit three months after Captain Cragen has been cleared, but he still hasn’t returned to work. In the meantime, the temporary captain (no need to learn his name; Cragen will be back next week) switches up the partners on Amaro’s request. Benson and Rawlins have been paired up to create the only all-female team I can remember in the history of the show. Munch and Fin are back together (YES! I love this!). Amaro is a swing guy, being able to fill in for missing detectives or working on his own.Read More »

The Mindy Project Ep. 3 Recap

in category of TV, Colleen Walsh-Jervis, Mindy Project, recaps

The episode begins with Mindy realizing that everyone has more exciting weekends than she does. Jeremy spent his weekend hooking up with a supermodel, Danny scheduled a C-section, and Shauna (one of the receptionists) went to a club where Drake showed up with a live white tiger. In comparison, Mindy fell asleep watching a movie and woke up covered in spilled red wine. Hoping to remedy her ailing social life, Mindy asks Shauna to take her clubbing the next Friday. Morgan (the new nurse) overhears and soon the whole office (aside from Danny and the old doctor) plan to tag along.Read More »

New Girl Ep. 3 Recap

in category of TV, Colleen Walsh-Jervis

Though this episode was meant to show how old the roommates were feeling, it made me feel pretty old. Please tell me that everyone else got the references to Family Matters, Full House, ALF, Frasier, and TGIF! Anyway, Jess has a new part-time job at a casserole restaurant and spends any time that she’s not at work watching television, like TGIF marathons, and perfecting her Steve Urkel impression.Read More »
