CinemaCon 2012: A Star-Studded Event

A fun variety of stars were spotted at the recent CinemaCon 2012 put on by Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures. Some celebrities were there to promote upcoming movies, while others were there to be recognized for their work in the industry. CinemaCon is being held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. It began Monday and ends today. It has a larger presence on the media radar than usual due to all six major studios – Disney, Fox, Paramount, Sony, Universal, and Warner Brothers – being present to promote their upcoming movies. Mila Kunis and James Franco strolled the carpet together promoting their film Oz: The Great and Powerful. It was a bit of tease, as the movie isn’t set to come out in theaters until March of next year, but it’s never too early to start promoting, we guess. Plus, it’s always a bonus seeing Kunis dressed up anyway. She looked amazingly fashionable in her Phillip Lim attire and Dior heels.

The event even scored an appearance from Jennifer Garner, who just gave birth to her third child and first son, Samuel, in February. The newly-minted mom of three looked beautiful in a forgiving gold Dolce & Gabbana dress, matching Nicholas Kirkwood shoes, and David Webb jewelry. Garner, who turned 40 last week, was promoting her upcoming movie The Odd Life of Timothy Green, which is due in theaters on August 15. The film has a very fun and unique storyline: A childless couple (Garner and Joel Edgerton) who decide to bury a box in their backyard containing all of their wishes for a baby boy. A child, Timothy Green, is soon born – but there’s something a little different about him (you’ll have to watch to find out what). Also attending the event was Sylvester Stallone, who received the CinemaCon Career Achievement Award on Monday. "Sylvester Stallone has proven himself time and time again to be a prolific actor, writer and director over the years," CinemaCon general manager Mitch Neuhauser said. "Throughout his incredible career spanning nearly 40 years, Sylvester has established his ability to continually captivate his audiences." Stallone is also there promoting his next film by Lionsgate, The Expendables 2, set to open in theaters August 17. The sequel to the 2010 Expendables film includes the all-star cast of Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason StathamJet LiDolph Lundgren, Liam Hemsworth, Scott AdkinsChuck NorrisJean Claude Van Damme, and Yu Nan. Action movie fans are already squirming!
