Bag Some Boot Style

As long as the weather holds up, it’s still all about stylish-looking boots in the world of fashion footwear. One boot style that I think is an interesting choice to consider as an option for fall footwear is what some of us call the paper bag bootie.

I don’t know that it’s an official term, but a paper bag bootie is a boot that gathers around the ankle. It looks sort of like the top of a cinched paper bag. Eye-catching, embellished, and decorative boots in general are hot in footwear right now, but this boot in particular is cool, because not only are they interesting-looking, they are perfect for showing off some of the pant leg styles that are also hot in the fashion world. Pants like leggings, cropped ankle, cargo, and cold weather shorts are some of the styles that work well with this type of boot.

Another very cool feature of this boot is that it can transform a pair of traditional-leg slacks or jeans into a whole new pair with its decorative ankle feature. Once tucked in a pair of these boots, a bell bottom or flare pant can easily mimic a pair of straight or cigarette legs.

Just like all of the other cool boot options this season, the paper bag boot comes in all the fabulous textiles and with all the embellishments that are hot right now. Add that to the fact they look great with both short and longer outerwear, and it will be hard to resist adding just one more pair of boots to your collection.

Obviously, you want to show off your paper bag boots, but what’s genius is this boot can also work as a plain old boot – the paper bag feature is easily hidden under your pant leg. In fact, several of the styles have drawstrings or belt features that can be removed to allow you to practically have two or more pairs of boots. I would not be surprised if you came across some styles that can be scrunched down or pulled up over the calf.
