A Biker Boot Redo
I am sure everyone agrees that boots are great for winter, but I think fall is better for boots. You may need them more for the elements in winter, but fall lets you show them off before the bad weather arrives. One hot boot style to consider adding to your fall footwear wardrobe is the motorcycle boot.
The motorcycle boot may not be the most practical boot style, but each time it returns, it gets plenty of attention. It’s back for 2012 with a vintage vibe to it, along with a few other interesting fashion twists. Motorcycle boots have had a loyal following for years, and although the basic style is old enough to work a retro vibe, they work with current fashions and looks from several different eras. A pair of biker boots, a t-shirt, and jeans look just as stylish and cool on a man or woman today as they did twenty years ago.
Biker boots tend to have a casual look, especially when they have traditional detailing like studs, buckles, and chains, and come in black leather. You can find this style of boot in lots of other fabrications and colors, but to me they just lose a bit of their cool if they aren’t in black.
Biker boots often look best when they are paired with jeans and other ultra-casual clothes, but these boots are so
cool you will want to show them off with more non- traditional clothing, like skirts and dresses. If you opt for some of the more contemporary styles, you can definitely take this boot out at night and possibly off to work in the day.
My tastes go to the more traditional style of biker boot that have a unisex look to them, but this year the biker boot has gotten a bit of a facelift. Several high-end designers like Christian Louboutin, Miu Miu, and Donald Pliner have offered up their own versions of this boot classic. In addition to traditional styles in black, brown, and tan, you will find taller versions with sleek stiletto heels, comfortable wedges, and flats. Look for non-traditional touches like animal prints, quilting, and boots with a high fashion or western flavor to them
