Chictopia is a website for fashionistas of all ages, of tastes, and budgets. Every girl (or guy!) can upload their outfit inspiration and share it with a community of people who love fashion as well.
I like to break some of the best outfits down for you, especially as the season is changing. Because it’s getting colder, you’re probably updating your wardrobe and buying new coats, sweaters, and jeans. You should never go shopping unprepared and uninspired, because you’ll buy loads of things that don’t suit your closet well and things you don’t really need.
So to avoid being in a fashion rut, here’s some great inspiration from Chictopia!
- This outfit, titled “Breathing Underwater” is a great transition outfit. Because it really isn’t too cold yet in most parts of the country, you may be finding it hard to balance summer colors and autumn warmth. This outfit does just that with a use of cream, yellow, florals, and black velvet. The little booties and the velvet skirt take the summer shirt and cardigan from summer to autumn in the cutest way! The collar is also a nice touch, and an undershirt is a great way to add warmth and layers. If you wanted to lose the cardigan, you could see the shirt better, and adding emerald green tights would definitely be a ’do.
- This one, called “A Bit Dangerous,” makes good use of tights, a definite fall trend. I saw a feature on fishnets in Glamour magazine, and this girl definitely nailed the look. When doing fishnets, it’s usually best to keep the holes very small and classic-looking, and to keep the rest of the outfit very conservative. You’re not doing a Pretty Woman impression! The blazer and slouchy tee add a lot of credibility to this outfit because the women are appropriately covered up. But the booties with the fishnets do give the outfit a lot of edge.
- I decided to include this outfit, called “One of these Mornings," even though it’s a male photo. Even though this is a guy’s outfit, you can still learn from it! His use of two “in” shades, gold and gray, is pretty smart if you ask me. And colored jeans are always a great way to add in a punch of color! To take this look and make it more feminine, grab a fitted tee and skinny jeans. Though I’d give you bonus points if you found this color in “editor” pants, with a trouser cut and wide legs. You could also add some cute boots, lose the white undershirt, and fit a more fitted black vest.
Enjoy these outfits, and let me know what twists you put on them!
