Color Blocking’s Future isn’t so Bright
Lucky for diehard fans and fashionistas on a budget, several fashion trends that showed up early on the fashion scene are turning out to have real staying power. One of these hot trends that just won’t quit is color blocking.
Color blocking has been holding on for almost a year. It took a little breather and then re-appeared on the fashion scene for
early spring 2012. This trend is still going strong, but the colors have been toned down. Bright colors ruled this summer, and color blocking was one of the most popular ways to wear them. There is still a whole lot of color going on, but things are just not so bright.
If color blocking didn’t make it into your wardrobe for summer, you just might want to take a second look for fall. This trend is definitely going to get a second look from me; I already have my eye on one or two items. Although the darker hues definitely signal that fall weather isn’t that far away, don’t panic or despair. There is no need to act hasty and toss your bright colors to the side. The slight change in this trend actually makes things a bit more interesting. You don’t have to abandon your bright color blocked items. Simply carry on as you were or mix in your bright colors with items in the new darker shades. Remember that mixing prints is still very much on trend, and odds are you can pick up at least one color in a brightly color blocked item and match it to a dark shades.
As with several other trends, if you don’t want to jump right into this trend with a color blocked dress, top, or other garment, consider one of the many accessories to choose from. You can go big or small with this colorful fashion trend; it’s up to you. Consider a pair of cool platforms, a pair of sunglasses, or even a simple pair of cuffs to give you a chance to check it out and see if this trend works for you.
Relax and take your time to figure out what you want; you don’t have to decide right now. There are enough signals that this trend will work just fine as the temperature really starts to go down. Another plus is although it pops in and out of the spotlight, this trend is always around for true fans, and will easily work with most of the trends that are on deck for fall 2012.
