CosPlay - Gamer Fashion

in category of Fashion
We all know that  everyone has their own style and their own sense of fashion but what happens when that sense is turned upside-down?  Gamers have been long tagged as being in their own world and nothing says that more than CosPlay!  Cosplay is short for Costume Play and is also a way for gamers to personify their favorite characters from the small screen.  Now Cosplay doesn't have to be characters from just video games, you can get your geek on by making yourself look like your favorite comic book figure, anime and more! [cjniche keywords="cosplay" listing="3"] Most Cosplayers select characters based on their sex-appeal, wearing outfits that are very revealing but you can also go for the more realistic side of things and go to a prop-builder to create your very own authentic arsenal.  One such person is Bill Doran of Punished Props.  Bill was recently on Game-On, a weekly show on the TWIT Network with Brian Brushwood and Veronica Belmont.  Bill showed off some of his most recent Cosplay weapons.  He showed a Mass Effect 3 weapon, the N7 Pistol, Mehrunes Razor, a sword from totally awesome Skyrim and a Protoss Pylon Lamp from StarCraft 2.  All 3 items looked extremely authentic.  Bill showed off how he creates the first prop and from there he can create molds and push out copies of these incredible pieces.  He tweeted a photo they took of him, Brian and Veronica on the set of the show, you can see the image here: [caption id="attachment_14567" align="aligncenter" width="565" caption="Cosplay with bill doran, veronic belmont and brian brushwood"]Cosplay with bill doran, veronic belmont and brian brushwood[/caption] Now Bill isn't the only game in town, but I do say he makes incredible props but now that you have your sword in hand what can you wear with it?  One such vendor is Hello Cosplay, A store devoted in selling authentic clothing based off of movies, anime.  There is also Zentai Cosplay where you will find more than anime and movies, some very sexy outfits can be seen here in their sexy costumes section. Now if you are going for a more obscure look, you may need to either make the costume yourself or look on Etsy.  Etsy if you are not aware of the site is basically Ebay for hanmade items.  Here is one such item, a Skyrim helmet! If you are interested in showing your geek pride and are just getting started in Cosplay I found an incredible source of information.  Cosplay.com has a very active forum for current and future cosplayers.  You cna find it at http://www.cosplay.com/forum.php .  There you will find over 300k active members talking about how they made their costumes, where you can get materials and most important is where you can show off your outfits! You didn't think that cosplay was just for Halloween right?  There are a number of conventions and shows that Cosplayers go to on a regular basis to show their wears.  From Dragon Con, Comic Con, AnimeFest and so much more.  No matter how small or large your budget is, you can find or make the unique item that helps you show your inner geek! Myself, I have a set of authentic light sabers from Master Replicas!  One is the lightsaber Obi Wan gave to Luke in "A New Hope" [cjniche keywords="skyrim" listing="3"]
