Every Which Way But Loose

Jeans of every style and shape are in this season. Just about every designer and label has whatever you’re looking for. If you happen to be a fashionista who is strictly a fan of jeans that fit, check out the line DL 1961.

Fans of the boyfriend and other loose-fitting jeans can move on to the next label. According to its site, DL 1961 hit the fashion scene in September 2008, with a “mission to create the perfect-fitting jeans." You can read more about the brand here.

I think we all are looking for the perfect-fitting jean, but this company means it literally. Because these jeans are meant to fit and conform to the body they are on, it’ s no surprise they’ve become quite popular with celebrity and mortal fashionistas who are body-conscious. The brand has quite an impressive celebrity fanbase that includes the Kardashian sisters, Halle Berry, and Fergie.

I have never been a fan of jeans with Lycra, but I will say DL 1961's selection of styles is pretty impressive. I was surprised to find that the brand also carries styles with wide legs. In addition to slim cuts like leggings, it also carries boot cut, straight, flare and skinny jeans. I did have a skinny jean moment years ago and may wear leggings once in a blue moon, but I prefer fabrics that fall away from the skin, rather hug it. The patented cross-weave denim the site boasts about does sounds intriguing; it’s quoted that it “stretches in every direction,” but keeps its shape with “90% shape retention.” Even so, it’s definitely not my cup of tea for jeans.

You will definitely find whatever you’re looking for within this brand. The site claims they offer 100 styles, and they appear to run the gamut of all the latest trends in style, color, and fabrication, including shorts. This brand is definitely worth checking out, but I think it’s more for the fashionista who has a great shape to start with.
