Five of the Best Outfits of 2012 - So Far!
2012 has seen just a few months so far; we're only in April, but already we've seen some of the most creative, flattering outfits out on the runway, red carpet, and on the street. When it comes to fashion, celebrities seem to be a tad more conservative, stylish, and on-trend these days; that can only mean a wider selection of outfits to be inspired by!
Some of the year's best outfits have featured trends like the peplum, some are based on color (if you weren't already aware, Pantone recently declared that tangerine is this year's "it" color). Some choices were based on a more classic style, and others are purely original. While the reasons behind our idol's fashion choices may differ, one thing is for certain: 2012 has a lot of potential to get even better. As we head into warmer weather, I have a feeling fashion is only going to get hotter as well!
Emma Stone carried off two trends that can get really sticky: peplums and odd color combinations. Most wouldn't think to mix bright pink and deep red, but Emma did it and then added a big peplum to the mix. Her nude pumps help tone down the rest of the outfit and keep it from being too busy. Emma's always stylish, but this Giambattista Valli choice is one of my favorites.

Elizabeth Banks really hit it home with this funky coral, blue, red, and yellow dress. The bottom is reminiscent of a coral reef itself, like rickrack done completely right. The top is a bit more tribal, and the color scheme of the dress is flattering all over; the blue pointy-toed heels keep the dress from being too overwhelming and add a touch of formality.

Emma Watson is always surprising, and her pattern mixing in this skit-jacket-top Miu Miu combo is spectacular. Without the blue skirt, the white top and black jacket would be stylish, but for the most part forgettable. When you add the peep-toe heels and pop of color, the outfit becomes more girly and wearable. Her laid-back hairstyle just adds to the wearability of the outfit.

Lily Collins really took a different tangent in this menswear choice. The tailoring, frilly shirt, and cut of the pants are very reminiscent of the Victorian era. Her choice of clutch and lipstick add a touch of color and keep the outfit from being too drab. Her pointy shoes are right in-line with the formal feel of the suit, and keep it centered and classy.

Vanessa Hudgens really takes the cake in this tangerine Tibi design. The color is perfectly on-trend, and the gold jewelry complements it perfectly. The cut of the dress is absolutely spectacular, and the dark eye makeup, hair, and nails accentuate her skin tone and brightness of the bright-orange hue.
