Get Your Tailgate On (Literally)
I am not a sports fan by any means, but toss in some good food and friends and I am there. One of the things you might be doing in between shopping for all of the hot fashions for fall is attending some tailgate parties. If you’re stuck looking for an outfit to celebrate the mood that you can wear later, check out the company Tailgate Clothing.
You can’t get any more self-explanatory than the brand’s name, and although it’s not exactly the cleverest, it works. It is what it is. I have to say when food is involved, sometimes what will I wear? isn’t my first thought, so I think this company has a cool idea. The garments aren’t too kitschy, so you can join in on the theme but still look stylish. With all that under control, you can focus on what’s important: eating and having a good time with friends and family.
According to its site, Tailgate Clothing has been in business since 1997: “We take American classics and make them new again.”
I am not one for wearing themed clothing and don’t really have a favorite team. I would probably pass on a team football jersey and the rest of that sort of stuff. Those items work for the moment and the event, but I probably would not wear any of it later.
I just became familiar with the company and after checking out some of the t-shirts I would not mind making the effort to show some extra spirit in
one of the t-shirt styles offered. I could definitely see me wearing it on other occasions in lieu of another t-shirt. They obviously look cool with jeans, and I can see them paired with skirts or trousers and a funky blazer over them.
The company is right on with what they state as their goal, “to re-create a forgotten era of timeless collegiate and classic American sportswear.” The site states they use “vintage manufacturing methods, quality, workmanship, and an eye for detail” to create their merchandise for men and women.
There is a pretty vast selection of weathered graphics and vintage washes to choose from as far as style, color, and sleeve length. I am sure even a non-sports fan like me could find something cool to wear.
If you’re headed for a tailgating party in the future, I suggest you check this brand out or add it to your list when it’s time to start your holiday shopping.
