Your lifestyle, your quirk
There is something for practically everyone in fashion this season. No matter what your personal style is, you can channel it with one of the hot looks or trends we are seeing on the catwalk. There is the ladylike look, menswear, equestrian, and several retro fashion eras to name a few, but for those of you who just want to be stylish, but comfortable without channeling a particular look, check out the clothing line by designer Rachel Pally.
Rachel Pally hails from Southern California and the line, launched in 2002, was initially sold door to door. According to her site, “Rachel has been hailed as LA's ‘Jersey Girl’ because of her choice of fabrications which could be considered her trademark.” The line appears in Bloomingdales, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Revolve Clothing, and Shopbop.com. Her designs are a favorite of celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Hudson, Oprah Winfrey, Heidi Klum, Rachel Bilson, and Jessica Alba.
What’s nice about this line is although the styles are loose-fitting and draped, they are still pretty stylish. I took a look at what the designer is offering on Shopforclothes.com came across a pair of full draped trousers that look like they would be very comfortable to wear, and would work for a night on the town and at home relaxing.
The designer states on her site that her designs are influenced the time she spent studying dance at UC Berkeley: “I love how fabric can be used to beautifully accentuate certain parts of the body while it can also be draped to hide others.”
All of the pieces would make perfect backgrounds for some of this season’s interesting accessories and shoes. There are enough pieces in the line to build a pretty good-sized wardrobe within the Rachel Pally label, but I could easily see several of the tops worn over the jeans, tailored skirts, and trousers of other brands.
Another major plus for this fashion line is all of Rachel Pally’s dresses, trousers, leggings, and skirts come in various colors, a wide range of pretty prints and equally wide range of sizes. Fashionistas of all shaped and sizes can easily wear her line, and the designer launched a plus-size collection, Rachel Pally White Label, in the fall of 2007.
