His and Hers: Velvetmen and Velvet T-Shirts
The fabulous fashions keep coming, but for comfort and style, you can’t beat a cool jeans and t-shirt combo. This go-to dynamic duo works for both men and women for just about any event once you add accessories and shoes. Jeans and t-shirts used to be what you wore when you hung out or hid out around the house, but today they go out on the town and the point is to be seen. It used to be taboo, but some lucky folks can even wear jeans and t-shirts to work, and not just on casual Friday.
There are a ton of options for t-shirts, perhaps more for you guys since this is an item women sort of adopted and often borrow from you. One brand you might not be familiar with and should definitely check out is Velvetmen. Velvetmen is a spinoff brand; I call it the brother to the women’s t-shirt brand Velvet. Velvet is well-known by us female fashionistas for its soft, well-made, great-fitting t-shirts. Shortly after Velvet made its debut on the fashion scene, Velvetmen was born. Jenny Graham and Toni Spencer use the same philosophy and textiles as they do for their women’s line.
Just like Velvet does for women, the Velvetmen t-shirt collection offers men’s t-shirts that are classic as well as contemporary. Velvetmen uses the highest quality fabrics available and the cuts are form-fitting but tasteful. I know you really can’t beat a great Hanes t-shirt, and there are a few other brands that you guys grab for, but Velvetmen also creates some of the best basic crew and V-necks on the market. Just a heads up, Velvetmen t-shirts are a bit pricey, but if they feel anything like the women’s line, you literally won’t want to take them off. I have a few of them myself, and you may want to double up on a favorite style so they can pull double duty to sleep in.
Guys, if you own a couple of these or decide to give them a try, it’s probably best if you keep a close eye on your Velvetmen t-shirts. Odds are your gal would be more than happy to “borrow” one if given the opportunity. The nice thing about these t-shirts is they are chic and stylish enough to please us, but not too fluffy for the average Joe. These t-shirts are definitely all man and perfect for you strictly jeans and t-shirt guys to test the fashion waters.
