If Not Black, Then Bright
It isn’t officially fall yet, and it’s still pretty warm outside, but there are lots of ways to start getting your fall on as far as your wardrobe is concerned. One easy way is with a pair of tights.
Most fashionistas go bare-legged in the summer, so this item will add an instant bit of “warmth” to your wardrobe. Don’t worry, you may think this will be uncomfortable, but it’s really not; in fact, a pair of black tights is ideal, but lots of magazines like the September issue of Seventeen are showing this idea in bright-colored hues. A pair of tights is lighter than a pair of leggings, and come on, what’s a little suffering in the name of fashion?

Just like going bare-legged, I think wearing black tights has a chic, high-end, European look to it, so that’s the route I am going. Fashionistas who are fans of bright colors should defiantly check out this season’s offering of tights in all of the colors that are available. You may be tempted to try to beat the heat and go for sheer tights, but try to go opaque for an optimal effect. You want the color to really pop. A helpful hint I came across is to test the opaqueness is to take them outside and stretch them in the sunlight
Obviously black goes with everything, but this season we are going to apply that rule to all of the colors of the rainbow. Don’t worry about matching!
If you’re wearing a garment with a print, one idea that never fails is to pick up one of the colors of a pattern. This is a trend to have fun with, so try wearing a random or even unexpected color, like bright yellow, orange, or emerald green.
Pair your brightly colored tights with dresses or frocks, as they are being called this year, skirts and shorts. One fabulous feature of this trend is it can lengthen the life of several garments you may normally put away this time of year. A pretty white dress in eyelet or lace can get new lease on life, and a pair of daisy dukes or summer sheath dress gets taken up a notch with a pair of interesting tights. Another perk to this trend is it’s a great way to draw attention to your legs or shoes, whichever happens to be your best feature.
