Let’s Get Honest
When celebrities get involved with a product or project, you tend to think that it is fashion-related, sexy, or somehow full of glitter. That is not the case with The Honest Company, which was started by actress Jessica Alba.
The actress, who is also the mother of two girls, partnered with friend Chris Gavigan to launch The Honest Company. The Honest Company is a line of completely toxic-free household cleaning goods, diapers, and wipes that, according to the site, “eliminates the hassle of hunting down natural options for every family.”
When asked about the company, according to people.com, Alba responded, “I created Honest because I was extremely frustrated trying to find safer, eco-friendly products for my family that actually worked.”
The site states all of The Honest Company’s products are free of harsh and synthetic chemicals.
You can read the whole story behind the company’s start and a bit of back ground on Alba and her partner Chris Gavigan here.
I don’t have little ones, but if I did, I would definitely check out this brand and I plan on telling friends about it. The testimonials on the site are all positive, of course, but most other sites that did features on Alba and her company had positive feedback and remarks too.
The idea of a green products makes sense, especially for babies and young children. And who can argue with the convenience of having merchandise that you use every day delivered right to your door? Kids or not, that is pretty handy.
The site is clear and easy to sign up and navigate. It’s very clear how to get information and help if you need it by phone or email. There are free trial products and you have the option to set up monthly deliveries. I also thought it was cute that you have the option to personalize your shopping and interact with the company by filling out information about the name, sex, and age of your child or children.
The site isn’t exactly what I would have expected coming from a celebrity, but then again it works for the product. The design of the site is clean and not too cute. Although there are pictures of Alba and her children, it gives a family-friendly vibe rather than your typical celebrity endorsement. I was also impressed at the amount of information about the products and thought the fun facts about babies were a nice touch.
