Make a Short Transition
Shorts are another traditional summer garment, but don’t start packing them away just yet. As long as the heat is on, you can wear shorts both stylishly and comfortably, but one way to add a bit more fall to your shorts is to consider a pair in leather.

Leather was has made great strides to become a season-less textile, but since it’s still mainly thought of for cool weather, it’s perfect for transition. And although it’s often considered a luxury fabric, it should be tossed in the mix of options along with other fabrics because it can easily go to work or play, both dressy and casual.
Most people have a tendency to put their leather away as the weather gets warmer. I usually pack certain fabrics up at the end of each season, but for the past couple of seasons I have been trying to be a bit more daring and follow more of the trends I see in the more high fashion magazines. If you’re not sure about outfit ideas for leather shorts, you can take your cues from models or celebrity fashionistas who are fans of this trend.
I don’t know if it’s because we are all trying to get more bang for our fashion buck, but I definitely think it’s great so many “seasonal” wardrobe items are becoming season-less. What also makes me a fan of leather shorts is that although they can definitely be considered special items and have a high-end vibe, they really are not as high fashion as you might think.
You may have to take it down a notch and come up with more wearable versions of what you see, but don’t let that keep you from trying a pair for the first time. If you’re on a budget, just shop around for sales. When you choose leather, you do want to look for quality, but with a little bargain hunting you can work this trend into any budget just by checking out some more affordable labels and stores.
One tip is to go with basic and traditional styles without embellishments. You may also want to go with a longer length, so you are not limited too looking dated or too sexy. You can always roll them up to go shorter. Bare legs look great with shoes and boots, for now and as things cool off; just add interesting hosiery and socks.
