Mrs. Moneybags?
The ladylike look is still goes strong in the fashion world, and what is cool is the age and social range of the ladies in question can vary. One popular look is “the lady who lunches.” I like to mix and match designers and labels, but for those of you who like to keep things within one designer name, one fashion source that can help you channel this look is the line of handbags by Ivanka Trump.
In case you didn’t already know, Ivanka Trump teamed up with the luxury label Mondani and came up with a bag collection to add to her existing
collection of clothes, shoes and accessories. The news caused quite a frenzy; Starpulse reported the celebrity designer kept fans updated with tweets, along with features in other news sources. The bags have been carried in stores like Macy’s, Lord and Taylor, Dillard’s, and Nordstrom for almost a year, in addition to the designer’s own website.
Prior to their release, the designer tweeted that “they look amazing.” I would not exactly call them “amazing,” but they are perfect for one of this season’s hottest trends. They appear to be made-well in addition to being comparable to other brands that I consider to be her competitors. I like the darker, more natural colors, but some of the other lighter and brighter shades are also quite pretty.
There also seems to be a nice range of styles that would work for daytime, nighttime, and pull double duty as work totes. I prefer leather, but this brand gets major points from me. Some of the made textiles are attractive and oversized, which is my favorite. As far as price goes, Trump aimed at making them affordable, according to peoplestylewatch.com: "I want them to be accessible to everyone!"
The collection ranges from $75 to $175, and I bet you can find a few on sale.
