Pick of the Glitter

You can take your pick of several different fashion eras to work this fall, and if you’re a fan of the ’70s you will be happy to know that era is still going strong as an influence in the world of fashion. The full-on disco look may have boogied on down the line, but a few fun fashion ideas from that era are still staying alive. One of them is glitter footwear and accessories.

Glitter is a favorite embellishment around the holidays, but no matter what the occasion is, a true fashionista is always ready to get her glam on with a bit of glitz, glitter, and shine. Disco was a big part of the ’70s, but this year you don’t have to wait until you hit the dance floor, a special event, or even for the sun to go down to glam it up with some glitter.

Glitter was practically a requirement during the original days of disco; it was sprinkled all over clothes, accessories, and makeup for the face and the body. People spent a lot of time perfecting their dance moves but even more time on putting together their outfits. A formal event like the prom or going out dancing gave you a perfect reason to glitter, but this time around you can work this trend in the light of day.

Glitter was a hot trend several months ago, and it’s back for a repeat performance. You might want to wait for the holidays to wear glitter clothing, but for now get your glitter on with a cool accessory, boots, or pair of shoes. Accessories are always a great way to go if you want to work a new trend or just try it on and give it a test run. Check out a glittery headband, purse, or a funky belt.

Makeup fans that have a thing for glitter should be in heaven as far as this fashion trend. If they haven’t already, they will want to jump in with both feet and their eyes wide open to try out some of the cool glitter nail polish and glitter makeup trends.

Make sure you check out all of the options as far as colors go, because all that glitters is not gold or silver. You can definitely play it safe with black, but for this fun trend, find something in a pretty pastel or perhaps a bright or neon color.
