This Rocker is Still Rocking Her Style: Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B.

The Stylist posted a picture of Gwen Stefani leaving her mother’s house on Easter Sunday. Although her “clash of the fabications” outfit wasn’t exactly what you might call a traditional Easter Sunday outfit, Gwen looked stylishly cool and fabulous, as usual. The combo of striped pants and houndstooth jacket may not be easy for someone other than Gwen Stefani to carry off, but the ensemble is actually right on trend, and the same goes for the oversized bright blue handbag and retro-inspired cutout lace-up wedge booties. The outfit is perfectly mismatched, and her blond messy updo and signature red lips topped it all off without missing a fashion beat.

Like several other celebrities, Gwen has a line of her own clothing (L.A.M.B.), and although it’s not constantly in the spotlight, unlike others, she has managed to successfully thrive since its debut, and she continues to have a loyal fanbase and a strong presence in the fashion world. Gwen Stefani has been a bit of a style icon from the get-go, and I think she deserves extra points for originality. Gwen has always been known for her style, and although it’s quite an eclectic mix influenced by different cultures, it has always been distinctively Gwen’s. Although Gwen often incorporates menswear into her look, it was always all girl. One fact I find really impressive is she made most of the clothing she wore on stage herself. If I was to use one word to describe L.A.M.B., it would be “fun.” Lots of celebrities turned designers miss the mark, often when they go with their own tastes, but Gwen seems to have hit the bull’s eye. Each season includes all the current trends, like the cage shoe, sheers, draped detailing, and ruffles. At first glance, L.A.M. B. could be a little intimidating to the average fashionista; most of the pieces look like they came straight from Gwen’s personal wardrobe and geared for the jet set glam crowd. But when the pieces are worn alone, they can easily be worked into just about any wardrobe, so don’t let your non-celebrity status scare you off -- some of these items are just too cool to pass up!
