Silver or gold? This burning question and struggle to decide is one that we are all faced with at one time or another. Unless you’re a diehard fan of one or the other, or buy one of each, you should just be prepared to deal with this issue when you’re out shopping for the latest trends in jewelry. Sometimes it’s easy and you can escape this drama when silver or gold happens to be the flavor of the month in the fashion world, but it’s difficult when you like both.

For those of you who are grappling with this very dilemma, a potential solution is rose gold. Rose gold is not a new precious metal that has been discovered, but it’s often overlooked. This season, rose gold is commanding attention and perhaps coming to the rescue of fashionistas all over the world who are struggling with making a fashion decision. Rose gold, often called pink gold, red gold, or Russian gold, is the jewelry of the moment. This striking and feminine color is showing up all over magazine pages, red carpets, and catwalks. I will admit this color is lovely and eye-catching, but I am a bit of a purest, so I will continue to wrestle with gold and silver.

Just about every jewelry trend, including watches and pairs of cuffs, is showing up in this precious metal. Just pick your jewelry and make it rose gold. Everything, including statement earrings, oversized necklaces, and bold rings, is coming down the runway in this lovely color. Just in case you’re not sure what item might be worth your time, I suggest you check out an oversized menswear watch and work two trends at the same time. I am a huge fan of big watches, especially men’s, and several designers are offering this item in rose gold. These watches are so pretty in this shade, they seem more like a traditional piece of women’s jewelry than a necessary item, let alone a watch.

This rose gold trend can be worked into practically any fashionista’s budget; you can go big ticket or costume kitschy when you make your final selections.

Just in case you can’t part with your gold or silver jewelry, you have the option of working this trend with makeup in rose gold shades, or perhaps a few strands of rose gold hair color.
