Round Sunglasses
Sunglasses are a necessity, but because of all of the cool styles, colors, shapes, and sizes, they seem more like a fun accessory, especially when the warm weather rolls around. If you didn’t consider it, think about it. You should always grab a pair to wear when it’s sunny, even in the winter, but for warm months you just can’t help but seek out the coolest and latest styles.
You can base your sunglass styles around what happens to be trending at the moment, or just whatever you’re wearing. You can go with the flow or what works for you and still look great; it’s all good, because just like lots of other fashion items, sunglass styles are each taking their turn in the fashion spotlight this summer.
One of the hot sunglass styles of the moment is the round frame, and it’s perfect for this year’s hot clothing trends because we are having such a love affair with retro looks. These sunglasses are cool and add instant personality. This style can be a bit tricky for the shape, and also because they have an iconic look to them. Round sunglasses became signature pieces for several very famous folks in and out of the fashion world. If you’re looking to create a more personal look, you might want to check out one of the other styles or shapes.
If I ever part with my Ray-Bans, I will probably go big, a la Mrs. Onassis. These round sunglasses are perfect for all of the retro fashions, and they blend in perfectly if you’re working more of the contemporary looks coming down the catwalk. One thing I like about these glasses is in addition to being signature pieces for certain individuals, you can also “channel” some of the big designer label names when you put a pair on. For instance, Stella McCartney and Diane von Furstenberg both sent their models down a few runways in this sunglass style.
Round sunglasses can be unisex; guys and gals seem to be sharing all of the styles, lenses, and frame colors this season, as
opposed to guys sticking with the dark colors. The lens colors range from dark to slightly tinted to metallic to white. Smaller lenses are often favored by the artistic, bookish, and bohemian types. Medium frames are more of an all-American look, and are great for the sexy rocker hiding from the paparazzi.
Like I mentioned, there are several famous folks known for wearing round frames; John Lennon and Lady Gaga and of course Jackie Onassis can literally be used as adjectives for describing round sunglasses. Keep an eye out for current celebrities who are making this shape their own, like Beyoncé and Mary J. Blige
