Your lifestyle, your quirk
The ladylike look is still a hot trend for warm weather. There are an endless parade of dresses and skirts coming down the catwalk for spring, and it’ll keep going right into summer. Skirts and dresses are perfect for working some of the hottest trends, but don’t forget pants are a still a stylish fashion option, even for warmer weather.
Wearing the pants is definitely not just a guy thing, and you can still look feminine in a pair of pants, regardless of the style. No matter what your body shape or taste, there is a pant style that is just right for you. Look at jumpsuits, skinny pants, wide-leg, cropped, shorts, skorts and even bloomers; every designer and label is offering stylish pants in their collections.
Now we all want to look good and stay current as far as fashion, but I think the best way to go is to not focus on what is the hottest look, but to focus on what fits and looks best on you. There are so many options for pants, you can practically have your cake and eat it too. There are several styles that some very big names in fashion are featuring in their line, but I just won’t be breaking out the Spanx trying to make them work for me. Leggings, skinny jeans, and slinky jumpsuits with a retro flavor are making a big statement this season, but fabulous as they are in all the fabrications and colors being shown on the catwalk and magazines, I am just saying no and going with a pant that is a better fit for comfort and taste.
One of my choices is cropped pants. They are a nice warm weather favorite, and since this seems to be the year of the fabulous shoe, they are a fabulous choice. I go for a fuller fit, but if you prefer a slim fit, you might want to consider a capri pant. I am also a huge fan of menswear-inspired trousers, both tailored and full cut. I usually shy away from volume, but I can’t resist the very wide leg trousers lots of designers are showing. You can find both of these styles in pretty solids and prints
One great rule I try to follow for maximum flattery is that the pant should hang in a straight line from your bottom. That way it skims over your thighs without clinging. For an effortless but fabulous warm weather outfit, pair the pant of your choice with ultra-sexy, form-fitting top or sheer blouse, add pair of sexy and very feminine shoes, and just see if your man minds you wearing the pants.
