Strapped for Fashion
Fall is the official time of the year to really get your boot on. What I mean is this is the time to wear fabulous boot styles before the yucky weather gets here. Most people have boots for showing and boots for snowing, and one style that is perfect for showing (showing off, that is) is the harness boot.
Harness boots, if you’re not familiar, are boots that have belts and buckle embellishments around the ankles. This style of boot has roots in both western and biker fashion, but even if you plan on working another look, don’t pass on this trend. No matter what look you’re channeling for fall, there is a harness boot that will fit. Some styles can even pull double duty as far as taking on a particular look, depending on what you do with your outfit, makeup, and hair
Harness boots can take on a rocker or a rustic look when paired with denim, leather, khaki, and other casual clothing. You may
have to try on several pairs, but there are worse fates to suffer. Often the heel of the boot will dictate its style, whether this boot is more casual or work-friendly. Wider and chunkier heels will have a more relaxed look than high heels, but not all of the time; there are some very classy looking flat-heeled boots to choose from and some high heels have an ultra-casual or funky look to them.
Whatever your favorite heel is, you should have no problem finding a pair of harness boots you will love. Your choice of boot length runs from ankle to way beyond. As far as color goes, I vote for the basics like black, brown, or tan, but do check out all of the textile and color options for this boot.
My suggestion is that you may not want to wear a pair of these boots with an ultra-feminine or evening dress, but feel free to do your own thing, you may start a new trend. This style of boot looks best with skirts, winter shorts, and tucked into jeans so you can show off all of the interesting hardware and belt effects. Another tip from the powers that be is to skip garments and outerwear with lots of buckles on them to avoid overkill – just allow these boots to get all of the attention they deserve.
