Alex Rodriguez Calls George Clooney His “Role Model”

Despite being significantly taller than George Clooney, 6’3” Yankees star Alex Rodriguez claims he looks up to the 50-year-old actor. Taking a quick peek at their dating histories, it’s not too much of a mystery as to why.

Clooney is likely the most notorious bachelor in Hollywood, and he is consistently included in People magazine’s annual listing of the Sexiest Men in America. Clooney was married once – to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993 – but famously claimed he would never marry again after his divorce. He has stuck to his word, much to the chagrin of the various Hollywood beauties he’s had relationships with since. Clooney dated British model Lisa Snowdon for five years, reality personality Sarah Larson for one year, Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis for two years, and is currently dating World Wrestling Entertainment star Stacy Keibler. If these gorgeous babes cannot convince Clooney to take another stroll down the aisle, he must really mean business.

Turning to focus to Rodriguez now, you may note some similarities. Rodriguez was married to his wife Cynthia for six years, and they had two children together. In 2008, they divorced following allegations that he was having an affair with Madonna (yep, that Madonna). Rodriguez has been linked to beautiful and famous women ever since. 

Rodriguez also seems to have a “type.” His last three women – Madonna, Cameron Diaz, and current squeeze WWE superstar Torrie Wilson – are all heralded in the media for their incredibly toned bodies. Perhaps, being an athlete, he just prefers athletic women. Diaz’s relationship with Rodriguez was very enticing to the public, despite their efforts to remain mum on it. The two were spotted on various vacations together, often on the beach of surfing.

Since ending their relationship last year, Rodriguez has commented on it, having only positive things to say about his famous ex. “I don’t like talking about my relationships,” he told The Insider this week, “But I will tell you about CD [Cameron Diaz]; she’s probably one of the greatest human being I’ve ever met, and just an amazing light.”

It is Rodriguez’s current girlfriend, Wilson, who introduced him to Clooney, as Clooney is dating Wilson’s former WWE co-worker Stacy Keibler. Apparently, the two men have really hit it off, and Rodriguez is taking some notes from Clooney’s book on women. 

When asked if he would ever remarry, Rodriguez responded with, “I’m not sure. I think my new hero is George Clooney. He’s my new role model. I think he’s done it right.”
