Bar Rafaeli Having Trouble with Guys

What is one to do when even the title of “Maxim’s Hottest Woman of the Year” does not bring the boys? Israeli model Bar Refaeli, 26, admitted this week to Conan O’Brien that “no one” hits on her. Ah, the problems of being drop dead gorgeous.

When O’Brien jokingly asked the model if she is hit on constantly, clearly suspecting he already knew the answer, viewers were likely shocked when Rafaeli responded with, “Let’s put it out there, no one hits on me.”

In case viewers didn’t think they heard her right, Rafaeli reiterated, “I don’t get hit on by guys. No one flirts with me. It’s very sad, actually.”

O’Brien, clearly shocked and a little confused, inquired how that could possibly be true. Rafaeli smiled, shrugged, and asked, “Will you tell me, actually?”

As the conversation turned to what type of man Rafaeli may be looking for, it was clear she hasn’t quite narrowed that down yet. She responded with a vague answer that could include any number of men. “Of course the obvious things. I want him to be sweet and kind and have values and morals.”

With some additional prompting for O’Brien, she did finally offer one specific trait to help narrow down the search, however: “The first thing I notice is his teeth. I have a fetish. [I like] a great smile and really white, bright teeth.”

Rafaeli was named number one on the Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 list earlier this week. She is pictured in the magazine in a black and white photo laying on her stomach and showing off a sexy tan line on her bottom half. She appears to be fully nude, but she admitted to O’Brien that she was actually wearing underwear that was later airbrushed out.

At least Rafaeli’s confidence does not seem shaken by her lack of men lined up currently. She seemed all too happy to distract O’Brien by constantly adjusting the skirt of her short black dress, and when O’Brien joked about a “nerd” having the job of airbrushing Rafaeli’s underwear out, she piped in, “A very lucky nerd.”

Perhaps it’s just an “in front of the camera” act, as Rafaeli claimed in an interview with New York Fashion that her confidence is much stronger in front of a camera than it is in her daily life.

“Yeah. I feel I’m sexy when I need to be in front of the camera,” she stated. “I kind of play with it, and I’m very, very confident. But on an everyday basis, I don’t think I’m that sexy at all.”

Rafaeli continued, “I don’t know how to explain it, but when you put a camera in front of me, I feel like I can let loose and act or move in a way that I’m kind of embarrassed to do around my friends or other people, you know? It’s kind of like the camera is this alternate universe, and I’m a different person.”

Perhaps it is for the best that Rafaeli is not being bombarded with suitors at the moment, as she has a pretty full plate. She has her own line of underwear called Under.Me. Although it’s technically considered a lingerie line, it does not carry the sexy feeling of “lingerie.” Rafaeli describes the line as “very basic, simple underwear that everyone can feel comfortable in and that can be ordered to your house. It’s just the basics — leggings, T-shirts, underwear, long-sleeved shirts, tank tops.” She explained that she decided to start the line for her own convenience, as she had a hard time finding basic underwear that fit comfortably.

Rafaeli is also gearing up to host and judge a new reality show, The Perfect Model. She explained it as “a reality TV show, with modeling mixed with extreme challenges — we’re traveling the world and doing shoots…but it’s not about who’s prettier, it’s more about who’s braver and more enthusiastic and more ambitious.”

Winning the coveted spot atop Maxim’s list of the world’s hottest women is an honor most women would blush at, but it also comes with some pressure to then remain on the list in coming years. When asked whether she worried about her longevity in the modeling world, Rafaeli shared that she is not worried.

You know, Cindy [Crawford] still works, and Claudia [Schiffer] and Eva [Herzigova] and all these girls still work. Look at Heidi [Klum] — I mean, she’s working more than ever. So I’m not worried about that at all. I’m actually worried that the more time passes, the more jobs come to my table, and I can’t refuse. I kind of want to start relaxing, but it’s like Murphy’s Law, you know? But every job I get I’m actually very happy and thankful.”
