Bill & Guiliana Rancic Expecting a Baby This Summer

After years of sharing with the public their very difficult road to conception, Bill and Guiliana Rancic get to say, “We’re expecting!” Baby Rancic is due late this summer via a gestational surrogate. “Gestational surrogate” means the baby is biologically Bill and Guiliana’s, made from the joining of his sperm and her egg, but is carried and delivered by another woman. The Rancics shared that their surrogate lives in Denver and is married with two children, but will not reveal her identity in order to protect her privacy and help keep stress low. "We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered," 37-year-old Guiliana told E! News this morning. Bill, 40, added, “We are absolutely ecstatic to be sharing this with everyone who has been following our journey."

The couple’s journey has included failed IVF treatments and miscarriage, all of which they’ve been very public about. Now, finally with the happy news they’ve been hoping for, the couple graciously granted an interview on the Today show this morning to share the details of their pregnancy. "We received an incredible amount of love and prayers from viewers around the world and we want to take this opportunity to thank every one of them." "It was one of the best moments of my life, if not the best moment of my life. It's incredible. We've been trying for so long, we've been through so much. And to finally get that call from the doctor, it was just another world, another level." Bill admitted, “It was pretty emotional, because it was our last stop.” Adding to the couple’s long and difficult journey to this point was a recent diagnosis of breast cancer for Guiliana, resulting in a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. The E! News celebrity news anchor and Fashion Police co-host also shared her triumph over cancer with fans, appearing three weeks ago on the Today show. She said she was “good” and didn’t even need chemotherapy. "You do what the doctors tell you to do and it's going to be OK,” she said. Thankfully, the couple is in a much happier place and has plenty of fun preoccupations to focus on, like reading those baby books and painting the nursery! Although Guiliana and Bill admitted that they do know Baby Rancic’s gender, they are not planning to share it at this time. "We're seeing how long we can keep it secret," Guiliana told Today.
