Chalk One More Up For Elton

Showing once again that he’s not one to be mature and move on, Elton John  recently threw more fuel on the fire of his petty feud with Madonna. Am I the only one who is surprised that Elton John doesn’t have better things to discuss (like his husband, their son, or his own career, to name a few) than trash talking Madonna in his interviews?

Never one to mince words when it comes to his intense hatred for the former Pop Queen, Elton, 65, took it up a notch recently, referring to Madonna as a “f**king fairground stripper.” Yikes.

When, during an interview with an Australian TV show, Madonna was mentioned, Elton didn’t skip a beat and jumped right in with his two cents:  “She’s such a nightmare. Her career’s over … she looks like a f**king fairground stripper.”

Elton continued, expressing his opinion of what Madonna should be doing versus what she is doing. "If Madonna had any common sense she would have made another record like Ray of Light and stayed away from the dance stuff."

Elton then offered a surprise almost-compliment in the midst of his rant, “[Madonna should] just be a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly.”

Elton and Madonna’s feud originated in 2004 when Elton accused the “Like A Virgin” singer of lip-syncing.

This past January, Elton’s husband, David Furnish, showed that he’s not afraid to step in and slam Madonna, either. After she won at the Golden Globe awards this year and Elton did not, David posted on his Facebook page, “Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it's narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is."

Elton also took his own swing at Madonna in January when he was asked if he had any advice for Madge on her upcoming Super Bowl performance. Circling back to the feud’s beginning, he snarkily said, “Make sure you lip synch good.”

The Lady Gaga comment stems from the fact that Gaga is the godmother to David and Elton’s son, Zachary. On her current tour, Madonna’s remix blend of her own “Express Yourself” and Gaga’s “Born This Way” was a swipe at Gaga, trying to show the similarities in the songs, insinuating that Gaga copied her. This is widely believed to be the catalyst for Elton’s latest round of catty comments.
