Does Katy Perry Have Another New Man?

I remember being surprised to find out Katy Perry was with Russell Brand, because she’s drop dead gorgeous and successful, while he’s….one of the most annoying comedians I’ve ever listened to. For reasons beyond looks and money (hopefully), they did not last. Boys and men all over the world rejoiced, thinking they once again had a chance to win Perry’s heart. And,with her pick of pretty much anyone, who does she go with? I can’t believe I’m about to type this…John Mayer.  (That smacking sound you just heard is my hand against my head).

According to Us Weekly, Perry, 27, and Mayer, 34, have been seen cruising around West Hollywood together, including SoHo House on June 19.

"They were affectionate, holding hands and cuddling," a witness said.

The possible new couple is also believed to have dined on some pizza recently at Perry’s home.

Ew. Perry must have a thing for stringy, curly hair on her dudes.

What Perry sees in this douchiest of all douchbags I cannot even begin to guess. Is she yearning for negative press when he reveals too much about their sex life in his next magazine interview?  My secret hope is that Perry lost a bet with Taylor Swift and now has to go on a few dates with John as her punishment.

Perry, whose divorce to Brand actually just finalized last week, was last linked to Florence and the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd when they were photographed snuggling and kissing at the Coachella Music Festival this spring. Apparently, the relationship was just a bit of rebound fun for Perry though.

Mayer has been linked to many famous starlets in the past, including Jenifer Love Hewitt (whose body inspired his hit song, “Your Body is A Wonderland”), Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston, Minka Kelly, and Taylor Swift. Mayer is also infamous for his comment about Jessica Simpson being “sexual napalm” in an interview with Playboy magazine.

Mayer got a taste of his own medicine, however, when Swift wrote a song called “Dear John” about their time together. The song got the point across that Mayer is basically an a-hole. Mayer went public stating that the song had hurt his feelings, but he doesn’t seem to have learned his lesson, as Perry is not shy about using her lovelife as fodder for her songs.

I guess all I can do is try to not think about their relationship now and if/when it ends later, look forward to the hilarious song possibilities it might provide Perry with in the future.
