How Miley Reshaped Her Body
Love her or leave her, no one can deny that Miley Cyrus looks amazing these days. She is managing to look toned and beautiful without looking malnourished or constantly hungry like some stars do after a major slim down. She’s also not trying to hide the secret to her health and fitness success.
Miley has become a dedicated student of Pilates this past year, along with going gluten-free. Photographs of the 19-year-old in her workout attire have become a staple in the gossip rags, as paparazzi know exactly where to find her every day – coming out of her Pilates class.
The majority of Miley pictures in the past six months have featured her in either black tights and a crop top that displays her completely flat stomach, or shorts so short that could easily double as underwear.
Miley is instructed by Pilates guru Mari Winsor, who recently told FitSugar, “[Miley’s]
mother had done Winsor Pilates, and when Miley wanted to do Pilates, her mom recommended me. Her results are due to her commitment, hard work, and everyday workouts.”
Windsor shared more about her young student: “Miley is a fan of all Pilates exercises, in particular those that sculpt the abs. In Pilates, every exercise that you do is focused on your abs, or as we call it in Pilates, your powerhouse. The 100, the double leg stretch, and the criss-cross are all crucial to sculpting your abs.”
Although physical fitness is clearly a major factor in obtaining a body even close to Miley’s, let’s not forget the other important piece of the puzzle – nutrition. Miley credits her slim-down primarily to cutting gluten out of her diet, which she claims was due to an allergy.
In April, Miley tweeted encouragement to her Twitter fans to follow suit. “Everyone should try no gluten for a week! The change in your skin, physical and mental health is amazing. You won’t go back!”
Miley has been accused of “showing off” her body via Twitter photos that are supposedly just her hanging out (and looking incredible). As tempted as I am to write an article about how annoying that is, I can’t bring myself to really do it because I know she’s obtained her body the right way – through healthy eating and daily exercise. She’s worked hard and is excited to show off her results. Who wouldn’t be?
If I’m being really honest, I’ll admit that it’s crossed my mind to buy her Pilates guru’s $15 home palates workout video.
“I believe what attracts all stars to Pilates is that it's safe, effective, and the results are very fast when done correctly,” Windsor said.
