Jessica Biel Got Exactly What She Didn’t Want

People change. Jessica Biel is a great example of that. She shared in a recent interview with the Associated Press that she had never planned on getting married and was quite fine with that. For those of you who don’t know, Biel is currently engaged to her longtime boyfriend,singer Justin Timberlake.

Biel doesn’t seem bothered at all about changing her plans. In fact, she describes the engagement as “wonderful.”

“It's actually not anything I ever really thought was going to happen to me or that I really wanted. And when it happened it just seemed – it just was right," Biel said.

The pair, both 31, dated off and on for four and half years before becoming engaged in December of 2011. Timberlake was very aware of his then-girlfriend’s penchant for snowboarding and the mountains, so he decided to propose while they were snowboarding in Jackson, Wyoming.

“He knew it was the right time to propose,” a source told Us Weekly soon after the engagement was announced.

The couple surprised many by breaking up for several months in the spring of 2011, but there were hints even then that they weren’t really done with one another. During the break-up, Timberlake made an extremely rare comment about his relationship with Biel, admitting, “She is the single-handedly most significant person in my life. In my 30 years, she is the most special person, okay? ... I don't want to say much more, because I have to protect things that are dear to me – for instance, her." 

Timberlake and Biel teased the public for years with their relationship, refusing to confirm or deny it publically. When Elle magazine asked Biel directly about it in November 2011 – just one month before they became engaged – Biel simply answered, “A girl doesn’t kiss and tell.”

She also told Elle, “I was never one of those girls who dreamt of my wedding and my Prince Charming.”  Well, that approach seems to have worked, considering she’s landed one of the most eligible bachelors in Hollywood.

"To piss off my mom, I used to say, 'I'm never having kids, and I'm going to be a fabulously rich old maid living in a house with cute butlers and dogs,'" Biel also admitted. 

When asked about kids, Biel said, "I think probably at some point it would be something I'm interested in. But I don't feel pressured.”  

At this time, a date for the wedding has not been released to the public. Considering how private the couple has been throughout their relationships, it is not likely that the nuptial date will be shared with the public at all.
