Katy Perry and John Mayer…Still Happening?

Unfortunately, Katy Perry kissed Russell Brand for awhile and didn’t seem to like it. The two headed to splitsville a few months ago, and it seems to have been hard on both of them.

Seems is the key word, because it turns out our favorite pop queen Katy Perry may be over it already, as she may be dating the suave ladies’ man John Mayer. While it’s not entirely unexpected, no one really thought Perry would rebound so quickly from her marriage to Russell Brand.

Last Wednesday, Perry and Mayer were spotted at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. Mayer was dressed in an army jacket, while Perry was wearing a white top. They jumped in a black Land Rover. Onlookers reported the two looked like they were on a “romantic” date, as they were often seen holding hands and kissing.

Earlier that night, the two had dinner at Pace restaurant. It seems Mayer may not be the most creative date-maker, as he took ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson to the same restaurant a few years ago.

I have never been a fan of Perry, but I’ve always respected her as a singer. She evolved from a conservative Christian girl to an entertainment powerhouse. Her choices in men have been questionable, and given Mayer’s womanizing history, he may be another bad choice. But who knows, some people change.

The two have been spotted together a few weeks beforehand, but it hasn’t been this serious until now. Perry once stated she is a “woman who likes to be courted—strongly,” so I hope Mayer is up for it!
