Kelsey Grammer’s Disappearing Act

in category of Gossip, Audra Rundle, celebrity news

With each passing day and each interview (or in this case, interview attempt),it is increasingly clear just how different Kelsey Grammer is from Fraiser, the television character he is most famous for portraying. Unlike Fraiser, who is an uptight and consummate professional psychiatrist, Grammer has been acting like an upsight ass with the maturity level of a 14-year-old.

We get the point that he and ex-wife Camille Grammer don’t like one another, but the two seem to be locked in a battle over who can more ridiculous or immature to the press regarding the whole divorce. Grammer seems to be winning right now, as just last week he ditched out on a live television interview with Piers Morgan minutes before he was set to go on air because he saw a picture of Camille that was included in the outset of the show.

Apparently, the 57-year-old actor assumed the presence of the picture implied that Morgan would be asking him questions about Camille and the divorce. Rather than clarify that he doesn’t want to talk about that particular topic, or simply state that while live on the air, leaving Morgan no choice but to move on to the next question, Grammer opted to simply walk out of the studios without a word.

Morgan shared his version of the events after the show in a pair of tweets:

“Kelsey Grammer was supposed to be on my show now but ran out of the building. Strange.”

"Kelsey Grammer saw a photo of his ex wife Camille in the open to our show and legged it. Extraordinary. Never had this happen before...I had a very friendly chat with Kelsey backstage. He said he was really looking forward to the interview...this was a shockingly unprofessional thing to do. I wasn't even going to mention his ex-wife!"

Grammer did not make any sort of public acknowledgement of his behavior personally, but his representative did release a statement reading, “Piers needs to take responsibility for what he did to Kelsey. It's called accountability.”

Camille filed for divorce in 2010, and the couple have been publically mudslinging ever since. It has been reported that Camille is estimated to be receiving about $30 million in the divorce settlement.

Grammer has moved on since the divorce and is now married to (his fourth wife) Kayte Walsh. Grammer and Walsh welcomed a daughter, Faith Evangeline Elisa, in July. Let’s hope the fourth marriage is the charm for Grammer, and perhaps his latest wife – who is 25 years his junior – can instill some manners in him as well.
