Kristen Bell: Perfectly Plucky and Strikingly Sexy
Chances are, Kristen Stewart would love to get the focus off of herself these days, so let’s focus on another, very different, Kristen in Hollywood – Kristen Bell. She is hilarious, incredibly talented, always candid, and manages to be cute as a button and incredibly sexy. In my humble opinion, Bell is the perfectly balanced celebrity – the kind of person other celebrities wish they could be and try to embody in photographs and interviews, but inevitably can’t quite pull off.
Bell is currently out promoting her new movie, Hit and Run, which hits theaters later this month. Esquire magazine liked her so much that they not only interviewed her, they also stuck her in a few different bikinis for a photo shoot. Fans will not be disappointed.
In one shot, a wet Bell is kneeling on the steps of a pool in a very feminine fuchsia string bikini. The second shot shows the 32-year-old in a black and white striped bikini and dark sunglasses, frolicking in the sunshine.
Never afraid to be her own critic, Bell shared her distaste for the second picture. “Could I be wearing darker sunglasses?” she asked rhetorically. “Can you please make your article be about how I’m hiding my shifty eyes? I might as well be wearing a mask.”
Bell’s Esquire article is titled, “Kristen Bell Makes Everything Slightly More Interesting,” and after reading just a few of her quotes, I’d have to agree. She doesn’t hold back. When asked about her fiancé, Dax Shepard, Bell didn’t skip a beat in replying, “You could not find two more extremes. He used to be a drug addict, and I don’t know if I’ve ever seen cocaine at a party, let alone done it. When I found out my Prince Charming has gone on five-day benders where no one could find him, I was like, ‘Wait, what?’”
Shepard, who also abused alcohol, has been sober for eight years. He has shared in the past that he once showed up to Late Night With Conan O’Brien drunk and was banned from the show for five years because of it.
Bell co-stars in Hit and Run with Shepard, who also directs the film. The story is a comedy about a bank robber (Shepard) whose ex-girlfriend (Bell) recognizes him and rats him out to the cops. Also involved in the movie are Bradley Cooper, Kristin Chenowith, Michael Rosenbaum, and Tom Arnold.
Bell rose to fame when she starred in the television show Veronica Mars from 2004-2007. She moved on to do the show Heroes for one season before ending up as the narrator on Gossip Girl, making her voice as easily recognizable as the rest of her. Her breakthrough movie on the big screen was Forgetting Sarah Marshall in 2008, where she played a movie star named Sarah Marshall, and the love interest of Russell Brand. She has since also starred in Couple’s Retreat, Fanboys, and When in Rome.
