LA Jeweler Now Selling Identical Version of Angelina Jolie’s Engagement Ring for Half the Price
Fashionista.com has put the word out: “A Los Angeles jeweler is already selling an identical version of the engagement ring Brad Pitt gave to Angelina.” To simply quote one of my fellow fashion bloggers, “Damn, that was fast.” Okay, I added the damn. You can read more here: fashionista.com It’s only been a little more than a week since the news broke and pictures of the engagement ring surfaced, but the site reports that Jacob & Co, located in Los Angeles, is selling a ring that looks almost identical to the ring that is now almost as famous as the gorgeous couple themselves. All of this “excitement” reminds me of the quickness that brought not only Kate Middleton’s wedding gown to us common folks, but her sister Pippa’s now equally infamous gowns. These folks must be glued to the media and have their scissors and drill bits clutched in their hands 24/7.
Needless to say, this form of “flattery” is getting its share of opinions and feedback. The original was designed by Brad himself with the help of jeweler Robert Procop. Fashionista.com went on to say that, “According to a spokesperson for Jacob & Co, the company already had a ring in their current engagement ring collection that is almost identical to Jolie’s sparkler.” I guess it’s possible, but the fact that Brad says he participated in the design makes this a bit sketchy to me. They probably have a couple of other things on their minds to think about and won’t be losing sleep, but Brangelina would have every right to be a little bothered by this. Oh well, no matter how slight the differences in the rings are, they can always fall back on the difference in price. Fashionista.com tossed out the fact “Angie’s ring reportedly cost a whopping $1 million, and features ten carats worth of diamonds (according to People), while the Jacob & Co. model will set you back only $530,000 and features seven carats worth of diamonds.” The silver lining in all this is the ring is now part of Jacob & Co’s current collection. So if you’re obsessed with Brangelina or your invite to the wedding gets lost in the mail, you can console yourself with one of these rings. I can’t wait till the gown materializes; it’s going be interesting, if this epic event even takes place. Did I say that out loud?
