Lopez Teams Up With Iglesias

Jennifer Lopez made a big announcement yesterday afternoon. Taking center stage at Boulevard3 in Hollywood, Lopez shared with adoring fans that she will be teaming up with Enrique Iglesias for a summer tour! 

The big announcement was made by Lopez’s American Idol co-worker Ryan Seacrest via his Los Angeles radio show.

Lopez proved that 42 is the new 22, as the mother of twins rocked a unique peach and tan dress with a crazy sparkly fake snake attached that wrapped from her hip up and around her neck. It sounds hideous, but somehow Lopez made it look chic.

Iglesias looked hot as well, despite being dressed extremely casually. The 36-year-old singer sported jeans, a blue shirt with a large gathered neckline and pull strings, and a baseball cap. Oh, and a sizzling hot five o-clock shadow. Well-played, Mr. Iglesias.

Fans of Lopez can experience the backstage during the upcoming tour by visiting her newly relaunched interactive website. The site will include everything from concert ticket giveaways, to previews of costumes and set designs, to behind-the-scenes interviews, messages, and photos.

Lopez posted an official announcement on her blog on the site yesterday, writing, “Hey LOVE!RS, today I announced my very first tour with Enrique!”

Lopez and Iglesias’ joint tour beings on July 14 in Montreal and will include 13 tour dates in North America. Some of the locations they will be visiting include Washington D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Miami. The tour ends on August 31.

The joint North America tour kicks off Lopez’s larger-scale global tour. The singer will be headlining in Latin America for the first time.

Prior to all this touring fun, Lopez is scheduled to perform alongside her ex-husband Marc Anthony at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Events Center on May 26. 

Anthony is also planning a summer tour, which will begin in August. Accompanying Anthony are fellow Latin music stars Marco Antonio Solis and Chayanne.

Let’s hope Lopez has time to get all of her personal matters in order before the big tour, as her former driver made headlines recently for announcing he is suing the singer for unspecified charges. The ex-employee, Hakob Manoukian, said he started driving for Lopez and Anthony in 2005 and they convinced him to close up his own company in order to work full time for them as head of security and transportation for a hefty salary of $200K.

Manoukian claims that while Lopez was filming What to Expect While You’re Expecting, he dealt primarily with her manager Benny Medina, who “hated his guts.” According to Manoukian, Medina would ridicule and degrade him in public and even claimed Manoukian “could not speak English well enough.”

Manoukian asserts it was Medina who convinced Lopez to demote him and ultimately force him to resign. Medina has a different story, however, insisting that Manoukian was a "disgruntled employee who chose to quit."

It sounds like a messy “he said-she said” situation that will hopefully be resolved quickly so Miss Lopez can focus on her sure-to-be-amazing tour with Iglesias.
