Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Renew Vows…Again
Although Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are one of the mushiest couples in Hollywood, we must begrudgingly admit…they are a little cute. They’ve had a rough year and deserved the nice vacation to Paris they took last weekend to renew their wedding vows for their fourth wedding anniversary (today).
Carey, 42, and Cannon, 31, have shared pictures of themselves clad in white with the Eiffel Tower in the background out of a window. Cannon looks dapper in an all-white tux and thin black tie and black shoes, while Carey mimics the color scheme with a white mermaid-style dress with spaghetti straps and a thin black ribbon tired around her waist.
One picture shows Cannon down on one knee, while Carey is positively glowing. They sincerely still look very much in love.
“Mariah and Nick renewed their vows at the summit of the Eiffel Tower in an intimate ceremony after a romantic dinner at the beautiful Jules Verne restaurant,” just after midnight local time, shared their spokeswoman Cindi Berger.
This is the fifth time the happy couple have renewed their vows, as they renew them every year since their wedding. Last year’s renewal was at the hospital following the birth of their fraternal twins, Moroccan and Monroe last April. In true style, the couple had Reverend Al Sharpton officiate the first vow renewal.
This year’s celebration came after a rough year of health issues for Cannon. He was hospitalized in January with inflammation of the kidneys. He was also diagnosed with an autoimmune disease similar to lupus. Stress was said to be a major contributing factor to his condition, as well as inhibitor from his healing properly, so he resigned from his radio show in New York City in February.
Carey, when not at the hospital cooing get-well sentiments into her hubby’s ear, has been working hard at losing the weight she gained throughout her pregnancy. She has successfully lost 70 pounds and is currently a celebrity spokesperson for Jenny Craig.
She also told Self magazine, "I’ve started writing songs for a new album, which I hope will come out in 2012. Getting back in the studio and making music again—which I truly love doing—is the best way to end this crazy year."
The famous pair married in 2008 in the Bahamas after dating just a few months. Many people wrote them off at the time, but they are proving people wrong with each year that passes and each vow renewed.
