Miley Cyrus’ Revealing Interview About Sex

Sometimes it’s hard to remember that Miley Cyrus is now 19 years old and a grown woman. It can be hard for the public and media to accept when a child star grows up…but though she’s finally age-appropriate for the scandalous behavior she’s been displaying for years, are we ready to hear Hannah Montana talk about sex?

No, not really. But that’s not stopping her.

On Lifetime’s The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet, the former Disney star said that everyone should talk about sex, because “it’s a beautiful thing.” Are you feeling uncomfortable yet? Oh, just me? Well, there’s more.

Miley expressed the importance of having frank talks about sex, especially with your kids.

“It’s ignorant not to talk to your kids about [sex] or make it seem like it’s not as cool or magical as it actually is,” Miley said. “If [kids] have a TV, they know what sex is. Everyone knows, so educate them.” Those are pretty wise words for a 19-year-old product of the Disney machine.

“Girls who base how much they’re worth on the sexual favors they can do for somebody, that makes me really sad,” Miley said. Hmm, is her statement inspired by any Hollywood celebs in particular? We bet that’s not too far-fetched.

For Miley, “Sex is actually really beautiful.” We’ve seen her Hunger Games star boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, shirtless, so we do not doubt her statement. We wouldn’t be complaining either. “[Sex is] the only way that we create, and it’s the only way that the world keeps going,” Miley added.

“Let [kids] know that they wouldn’t be here without [sex], and it is a beautiful thing, and it is magic, and it is when you connect with somebody and it isn’t how much your worth,” she said. “Your worth isn’t based on that. Your worth is based on how you feel about yourself.”

Miley has been dating Liam, who’s three years her senior, since 2009, when the duo fell for each other on the set of The Last Song. Hemsworth played her love interest in the tear-jerking Nicolas Sparks movie. After being off-and-on, the couple now seems inseparable.

Miley has been criticized for “growing up too soon” and partying hard, but when it comes to the subject of love, she seems to have a good head on her shoulders. She continued to advise girls to know themselves before becoming romantically entangled.

 “Just be who you are, and that is where your style will come from, and your attitude, and your spirituality, and your sexuality,” she said, “because it’s coming from a place of love.”
