Miley’s New ‘Do!

Earlier this week, Miley Cyrus was once again a gigantic topic of conversation, and even sparked a Twitter trend. Why? Well, the former Disney star is sporting a daring new hairdo!

Miley started Tweeting about her plans to cut her hair, saying things like, “if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all. my hair is attached to my head no one else's and it's going bye bye J”. From her words, it’s obvious that some fans or even possible a few close friends did not want her to cut her hair. She wasn’t having any of it, though. She also wrote, “It’s happening,” and “ready for a change.”

By her tweets, the cut wasn’t unexpected, but was a big topic of conversation. Some people have speculated that her engagement to Liam Hemsworth might have been called off. One tweet reads, “@lexi008 Oh god. That's not good news. ESP since she's so vocal about it...Drastic hair changes w/ girls = Done relationships/New outlook “ and yet another says, “@EbonyShiksa she's not wearing an engagement ring in ANY of the pics she tweeted today”.

But there are pretty reassuring signs that the couple are still together. Miley tweeted to a fan asking about her relationship and said, “Last night he said I look the happiest he’s seen me in a while. He likes seeing my eyes more.” Liam must approve!

There have been other rumors about the haircut as well. Some have said that Miley cut her hair for a good cause; it’s been speculated that the chopped-off locks went to Locks of Love to create wigs for cancer patients. While it’s true that dyed hair can be donated, bleached hair cannot, and Miley has bleached her hair. If you haven’t already seen her new cut, take a look. It certainly isn’t brown anymore!

Miley hasn’t said anything about donating her hair on Twitter, which is where most of the action has happened, so it’s not certain whether this rumor is true.

Whatever your opinion on Cyrus’s new cut is, the star seems very happy, which is definitely a great thing. Girls who rock the short hair (ahem, yours truly!) require a certain amount of gonads to do it, so I think above all that we should be proud of someone who has finally cut off all of her long, wavy brown hair.
