More Car Woes For Amanda Bynes

Amanda Bynes continues in her apparent quest to rival Lindsay Lohen as Hollywood’s worst young driver (because the title of Hollywood’s worst old driver – and worst everything else – already belongs to Mel Gibson).

Bynes was reportedly involved in a minor traffic accident earlier this month, but left the scene without leaving her information. Failing to leave your information at the scene of an accident is illegal, so the 26-year-old actress is now under police investigation. The case has been turned over to the city attorney’s office for review and to decide if it will be classified as a hit-and-run case.

According to Police Lieutenant Andy Neiman, Bynes rear-ended a Toyota on August 4. She stopped, looked at the other car. After deciding  it didn’t appear that any damage was done, she simply drove off. There was, however, more than $800 worth of damage to the other vehicle, so we’re not sure where Amanda was looking to make her think, “All good!”

Unfortunately, this is not Bynes’ first car-related incident of the year. She was also arrested in April for allegedly driving under the influence when she brilliantly sideswiped an L.A. County sheriff’s cruiser, of all things. The incident occurred at 3 a.m. on April 6, on the West Hollywood corner of Robertson and Santa Monica Boulevards.

After the event, Bynes denied the drinking allegation by tweeting, “Hey @BarackObama... I don't drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don't hit and run. The end."

Bynes also had a message for the news outlets reporting her arrest; she wrote, “I can't help but laugh at all of you writing fake stories about me. I was not in any hit and runs. I don't drink so the DUI is false."

It seems a bit odd that she flat-out denies the DUI, seeing that she has a mug shot from it – pink hair, smudged make-up, and all. She was also charged with refusing a Breathalyzer, or blood-alcohol test.

Bynes got her start on the Nickelodeon kids shows All That and The Amanda Show before moving on to a sitcom with an adult audience in What I Like About You, which she co-starred in with Jenny Garth. Bynes also starred in several films aimed at the teenage audience, such as What A Girl Wants, Love Wrecked, She’s The Man, Sydney White, and Easy A.
