No Future Wedding Bells for Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum shocked the world with the announcement in January that she and Seal, her husband of seven years, were divorcing. The split came out of nowhere as far as the public was concerned, and it was a very sad announcement for many who considered the pair one of the few couples in Hollywood that seemed genuine and long-lasting in their love and commitment to one another.
Klum and Seal had three beautiful children together (and Klum had a daughter from a previous relationship), renewed their vows in a full-out wedding ceremony every year, and were known for their wild Halloween parties. They were the golden Hollywood couple. If they couldn’t make it, what hope did anyone else have? I may sound a little melodramatic here, but that was honestly the tone of the majority of articles announcing and discussing the divorce.
Six months later, Klum admitted to the newspaper Bild am Sonntag that she may be done with marriage altogether. “I don’t know if I’ll get married again,” Klum said. “Although I really enjoyed being married. I’m a dreamer. I loved our annual fairy tale weddings that were our big family parties. But sadly, it somehow didn’t work out.”
It sounds like the 39-year-old supermodel and former Victoria’s Secret runway Angel is still grieving the loss of her second marriage, but she is doing her best to move forward and maintain a positive outlook.
“I think everyone should work on their dreams,” she said. “I try to. I look into the future, concentrate on my family and I have to say that I’m happy. There are worse things in life than a separation.”
Klum’s first marriage was from 1997-2002 to stylist Ric Pipino. Klum began dating Seal in 2004 while she was still pregnant with her daughter, whose father is Flavio Briatore, the managing director of Renault's Formula One team. Klum and Seal became engaged that same year and married in 2005 on a beach in Mexico. They have two sons, ages 6 and 5, and a 3-year-old daughter together.
In an interview with Piers Morgan in January, Seal sweetly claimed his love for Klum “has not waned one iota.” He also pointed to his wedding ring and told Morgan that the ring stands for “These four little miracles [his kids] – and Heidi makes five – who have come into my life.” Sheesh, no wonder Klum fell for him!
Seal was also very honest in his interview, however, saying, “You can never say never. I can't speak for my wife and I'm not going to sit here and BS you and say we haven't had problems. Of course we have had problems, otherwise why have we split up? This is not a charade. We have problems, we have issues, but to our credit we have always been able to talk about them, to confront them. I don't know at this point if I would like to get back together. If it were that easy, we would still be together, that is the reality.”
Man, I have to admit, I don’t blame Klum for not wanting to remarry – where are you going to find another guy that sweet?
