Oops! He Did It Again

Levi Johnston has taken the whole “if at first you don’t succeed, try again” advice to heart and is applying it to fatherhood. He hasn’t exactly been Dad of the Year with his three-year-old son, Tripp, whose mother is Bristol Palin, daughter of former Republican Vice President hopeful Sarah Palin. Twenty-two-year-old Johnston is now expecting his second child, a little girl, with his girlfriend, 20-year-old Sunny Oglesby. Will he do any better the second time around?

“Levi Johnson hasn't paid child support in nearly two years," an inside source shares in the latest issue of Us Weekly. "And he has little contact with Tripp." Levi currently owes more than $38,000 in child support.

It’s understandable that Levi can’t pay child support right now, as he is reportedly flat broke and living with his mother again in Alaska. Considering Levi’s mother is also a convicted dealer of the prescription drug OxyContin who did five years in jail, perhaps it’s not the best environment for a little one anyway.

Levi made a pretty penny (some reports say up to $1 million) from his fame back in his Bristol days by appearing in magazine shoots and releasing his autobiography, Deer in the Headlights. So where did it all go? Apparently, he did what any new father would do with bundles of cash – he opened a college fund.

Just kidding. He blew it all on “guns, boats, and four-wheelers.” I’d love to hear his lecture on why a child needs these things in his or her life growing up.

Levi isn’t standing aside listening to the claims that he’s a deadbeat dad, however. “No, I never will be [a deadbeat dad],” He recently told Inside Edition. "I love Tripp more than anything and he is my son but I don't feel like a dad to him. Not by choice, though ... hopefully one day I can be."

Levi claims Bristol has lied to him, saying she was taking Tripp out of town in order to avoid allowing him to visit Tripp. Whether this is true or not, it doesn’t explain an entire year at one point going by without a visit, or even several months at a time.

Although things are clearly not going well with Tripp, Levi has been keeping himself busy with pregnant girlfriend Sunny, whom he started dating in 2010, and will soon have another chance at failure fatherhood when his little girl, Breeze Beretta Johnston, arrives. If that middle name sounds a bit familiar, you may recognize it as a famed Italian gun manufacturer. A totally normal thing to name your daughter after. Clearly, Levi is maturing and taking this second round of fatherhood more seriously.
