Rihanna Drama
Rihanna has always been known to make guys turn their heads, but it seems like lately she’s also been causing them to throw some punches! As ya’ll may have heard, earlier this month (June 14) Drake and Chris Brown threw down at popular New York nightclub W.i.P., allegedly over the sexy songstress. Drake has previously been romantically linked to Brown’s ex (and the victim of his awful domestic abuse). Drake has been vocal on more than one occasion on his feelings for RiRi, but apparently she just wasn’t that in to him. Meanwhile, rumors of Brown and Rihanna rekindling their romance have been reported in the press, primarily by TMZ, which spotted the former couple partying together at New York nightclub Avenue earlier during the week of the fight.
Anyway, the Drake and Brown fight supposedly went down like this: Brown sent a bottle of champagne over to Drake's table, and members of both artists’ entourages were exchanging some words. Drake and his party then came over and sparked an argument over Rihanna before punching Brown in the face and throwing a bottle at him (I don’t think violence is ever the answer, but I have a hard time feeling sorry for Brown after his past behavior!).
Sadly, five people, including some innocent tourists, were badly injured at the scene, according to the NYPD, which arrived after receiving a call between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. (both artists were gone when police arrived). Brown, never one to keep quiet, took to Twitter shortly after the incident to post a photo of a laceration on his chin (which he indicated came from a bottle) and revealing messages, like "How u party wit rich n**** that hate? Lol... Throwing bottles like girls? #shameonya!" and "Ok! N****s stand behind security! Ok! U don't pay them enough." Not surprisingly, Brown deleted the messages a short time later.
An interesting side note to the fight is that Spurs player and former Mr. Eva Longoria, Tony Parker, was at the club partying with Brown, and has filed a $20 million against the owners of the club, claiming their lack of proper security caused the “serious injury to his left eye” sustained during the bottle-throwing incident. It could be serious enough to keep him from representing France in next month's 2012 London Olympics, and has the Spurs “very worried” about his future.
Reps for Drake later told AP that he was leaving the nightclub when a fight erupted between Chris Brown and other partygoers: “A statement released Thursday says that Drake did not engage in activity that resulted in injury to a person or property.” Meanwhile, TMZ quotes a source identifying rapper Meek Mill as the person who struck Brown with a bottle.
And this week another fistfight occurred over Rihanna, this time in London outside the Whiskey Mist nightclub. A paparazzo allegedly got too close for comfort and her enormous security guard punched the guy out cold. Someone really needs to teach the paparazzi about personal space – these guys are out of control! I wouldn’t be surprised if the overzealous photog files a lawsuit again the singer’s camp shortly, though (ca-ching).
Adding to the singer’s wild month, poor Riri was evacuated from the Corinthia Hotel in London today after a fire broke out in the elevator shaft. Yikes! Girl can’t catch a break! She tweeted:
"Roamin da streets since 6am! Fyah in da telly!"
Luckily, reports indicate that no one was injured.
