Robert Pattinson Might Be the Nicest Guy Ever

I am lucky I am a happily married woman, so I don’t have to spend many nights swooning over Robert Pattinson and wondering how I can make him mine. Okay, I might be doing some swooning anyway.

Pattinson continues to handle having his heart stomped on by his long-time girlfriend Kristen Stewart with nothing but class. Pattinson’s public reaction may end up being the biggest boost for his career, as well as his future love life (when he’s ready to return to that sort of business).

After the news of Stewart’s affair with her 42-year-old Snow White and the Huntsman director Rubert Sanders surfaced in the media, Pattinson went incognito for a couple of weeks, and his fans became quite concerned about his welfare. After taking that short time to digest the situation, the handsome 26-year-old resurfaced in order to promote his latest film, Cosmopolis, and has handled all references to the cheating scandal with such incredible grace and maturity that he has ended up making a lot of new fans of out of the deal, myself included.

And now he’s gone and one-upped himself.

Not wanting his former love to face the inevitable scathing scrutiny of former fans (especially the female ones) who are still livid over the betrayal, Pattinson has volunteered to walk the red carpet at Stewart’s side when the final installment of their Twilight series, Breaking Dawn, Part II, premieres in November.

"He is being professional and taking the higher moral ground,” one insider said.

Stewart has already been reported as beating herself up over the ordeal and becoming quite depressed, but it’s likely that Pattinson’s chivalry is making it even worse for her – she can’t help but see what she threw away.

Of course, we don’t know if Pattinson is agreeing to walk at Stewart’s side as a show of loyalty and respect to the girl he once loved, or if he is strictly being professional and knows that the movie’s success lies, at least partly, with the idea of them as a happy couple. Since the world already knows they are no longer dating, he could at least put forward the front of them being on friendly terms.

Whether the action is real or strategic, Pattinson gets kudos from me, because it is a move not many people could bring themselves to make in the same situation.
