She Wants HOW MUCH For Child Support?!

The question is frequently asked, “How much does it cost to raise a child these days?” The answer varies depending on whom you ask, but according to supermodel Linda Evangelista, it apparently costs $46,000 a month to raise one child.

So who’s the unlucky father of Evangelista’s child? Billionaire François-Henri Pinault, AKA actress Salma Hayek’s husband.

Evangelista, 46, and Pinault’s 5-year-old son, Augie, was born while Pinault was already dating Hayek. He and Hayek married in 2009 and they have a 4-year-old daughter, Valentina.

Evangelista’s request asks for more than $1,500 a day, or $807,000 a year. Her argument is that, on top of regular childcare expenses are 24-childcare, armed chauffeurs, and armed guards for Augie’s protection. Kidnapping a billionaire’s son can certainly gain someone an impressive ransom.

It should be noted that Evangelista is not exactly hurting for cash; she is a millionaire in her own right, estimated to be worth about $8 million. She makes millions a year from her modeling campaigns, contracts with cosmetic companies, and photo and cover shoots.

Last year when a judge asked Evangelista why she absolutely needed a 24-hour nanny, she explained, “When I work, it can be a 16-hour day ... On days when I do not work, I am working on my image. I have to hit the gym. I have beauty appointments. I have to work toward my next job and maintaining my image, just like an athlete.”

Anyone else thinking “Mom of the Year”?

Evangelista and Pinault will come face-to-face in a Manhattan family court this week to work out what their child support costs should be. The case is expected to last four days. If Evangelista is granted her request, it will be the highest child support payments ever awarded. (Currently, P. Diddy has the record of $19,000 a month.)

In addition to her ludicrous child support payment requests, Evangelista is also demanding a home for their son that is equivalent to the $13 million mansion in California that Pinault has in a trust for his daughter with Hayek.

Pinault ,49, is heir to an $11.5 billion family estate, which includes the Christie’s auction house, the Château-Latour vineyard in Bordeaux and the French football team Stade Rennais 

Pinault is also chief executive of PPR, the conglomerate that owns Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci and Bottega Veneta, and he owns homes in Paris and Los Angeles.
