Snooki’s Surprising Changes in Pregnancy

Anyone who has seen Jersey Shore would have been hard-pressed to be convinced that anything could get Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi to change her ways, but rapidly impending motherhood is doing just that. In a recent interview with Juju Change of Good Morning America, Snooki revealed some very surprising changes she has made due to her pregnancy.

To begin with, the 24-year-old has sworn off partying and drinking entirely. Or, “at least for nine months,” as Chang only half-joked about when introducing the footage of her interview.

“Obviously, no drinking. None whatsoever," Snooki told Chang when asked how pregnancy has changed her. "I'm scared to even have caffeine. My friends were like, 'You can have a glass of wine' and I'm like no, I refuse. I'm going to be that person who has a glass of wine and [the baby] comes out with three legs."

In order to avoid the temptation, Snooki avoids the party scene altogether. "I just don't like to be around people who drink because then I'll be like, 'Cool, I miss it,'" she said. It will be interesting to see how she handles the sixth season of Jersey Shore.

She has opted out of living in the house with the rest of the cast for their upcoming season, but she isn’t exactly far from the party scene, as she’ll be staying in the house next door.

"I feel like I'm going to be a good mom," Snooki told Chang. "A lot of people definitely underestimate me, but this isn't a joke. Once you realize you're pregnant and you have your little daughter or son in you, I mean, you stop [partying]…and I feel it changed me overnight."

Snooki recognized that her children will someday be able to research her and find out about her wild past, but she has no intentions of trying to hide it from them. "I'm just going to show them myself and say, 'This is what Mommy did, learn from her mistakes,'" she said. "And they can take it or leave it.”

Perhaps it also helped the father of her child, Jionni LaValle, who plans on sticking around and being a real dad to his son. LaValle proposed to Snooki on Valentine’s Day with a 5-carat diamond ring, which they both proudly displayed in the ABC interview.

It’s still one of those “I need to see it to believe it” situations, but we sincerely hope Snooki and LaValle prove the many naysayers wrong and follow through with the marriage and are great parents to their son.
