Teen Mom Amber Back in Jail

: The Teen Mom-a drama doesn’t stop simply because the cameras stop rolling, as original Teen Mom “star” (using that term loosely here) Amber Portwood has learned during a tumultuous year plagued with addiction and legal trouble.

Amber – well-known to TV audiences and gossip mag readers for all the wrong reasons (including domestic violence, child neglect, drug abuse) – is back in jail as of Thursday.

The 22-year-old mother and MTV star was taken into custody in Anderson, Indiana, after violating terms of her drug court program.

For most people, going to jail is the ultimate punishment (and fear) for committing a crime. But Amber actually requested jail time. She told a judge that she’d rather serve time behind bars than complete her court-ordered drug rehab program. It sounds like she really has her priorities in order... did she ever get that GED she was studying so hard for? I digress…

Amber is presently locked up in the Madison County jail until a hearing is set.

One bright spot for Amber? She’s reunited with her on-again/off-again baby-daddy, Gary Shirley. Amber and Gary were photographed walking hand-in-hand outside the Madison County Circuit Court in Anderson, Indiana. Gary was likely there to bid farewell to his lover, who was taken into custody the same day. How romantic. The day was tough on Gary, his tweets reveal.

“Leaving Anderson… need some cheering up,” he tweeted. One of his 168,740 followers (damn, apparently there are a lot of fans-of-stupid out there) asked him if he was okay, to which the 25-year-old dad replied, “Yeah just a really bad day so the good part about that is tomorrow has a chance to be great.”

Though the reunion may make Amber and Gary happy, the news may not be a bright spot for their daughter, Leah. During the couple’s relationship, much of which was captured for MTV audiences and broadcast on their hit reality show, Amber and Gary clashed over everything: Where to live, whether or not to marry, how to handle “adult” life.

The duo was often shown fighting viciously, even resulting in Amber physically harming Gary. Did I mention they screamed and fought while little Leah was just feet away? Here’s betting that baby is going to need some major therapy when she’s older.

During the press coverage of Amber’s legal troubles, Leah’s well-being is rarely mentioned. The 3-year-old is in the primary physical custody of dad, Gary, and hopefully she’s oblivious to all of her mama’s drama.
