Who is Ashley Greene?

Who is Ashley Greene? I was asking myself this as I scrolled Hollywood headlines and saw her name everywhere. Looking at her face, she was clearly beautiful and somewhat familiar – but where did I know her from? Why couldn’t I pinpoint it? Then it hit me – she’s Alice! She plays the gorgeous pixie-haired sister vampire to Edward in the Twilight series. I didn’t recognize her with long flowing locks.

Greene is a stunning beauty who, at 25, is just getting started in Hollywood. She has been in Los Angeles as an actress since age 17, but it took awhile to get noticed and get the ball rolling.

"In my second year in Los Angeles, when I was eighteen, I wasn't getting any bookings, so I stopped going out, stopped partying. It was a matter of getting to the work. I had to focus," Greene told Esquire magazine in her interview coming out in the August edition, which she is also the cover model for. Hmmm, perhaps a few other Hollywood actresses in their 20s (or 30s for that matter) could take note.

Twilight’s Alice was certainly Greene’s breakout role, and a huge contract to land for a few lucky actors, as it is guaranteed work (and money, fame, and the opportunity to be part of one of the biggest franchises in modern history) for the next several years.

"You make five movies with the same people and they really do feel like family. But film those same five movies in different locations, and none of the locations ever really feels like home," Green said of her Twilight days.

She added, "What Twilight gave me was years to consider how I wanted to work otherwise."

Greene does not seem to be having any trouble finding work outside of the Twilight franchise. She starred in the 2010 Sundance Film Festival movie Skateland, as well as the movies Warrior and Summer’s Blood, and her newest film, The Apparition, comes out next month.

Greene also recently won “The Sytle Icon Award” at Hollywood Life’s Young Hollywood Awards, and has also received an award from PETA for being a spokesperson for Avon and their “no animal testing” policy.

You can see Greene looking incredibly sexy and far more mature than her age (in a good way) clad in lingerie on Esquire’s August edition.
