No one out there has perfect skin, not even celebrities! We try all kinds of things to fix our skin problems, and we spend lots of money. Rest assured you don’t always have to turn to such extreme measures. There are natural, healthy, and ultimately inexpensive ways to combat complexion problems. Eating healthily is the easiest, most natural way to get a healthy complexion. I once heard that “Food can either be the best vitamin in the world, or the slowest-killing poison.” That is completely true. What you eat can ruin your energy levels, complexion, and mood, or it can sustain them and make you look and feel better. On that note, let’s take a look at some of the best foods around that’ll help improve your complexion.

  1. Whole Grains – There are several reasons that whole grains help clarify your skin, the first of which is that they lack the processed and refined sugars that other breads and carbohydrates have. Processed stuff is really bad for you skin, and when you eliminate that, your complexion will definitely thank you.
  2. Citrus Fruits – There are loads of tasty citrus fruits to choose from. Oranges, grapefruits, limes, and lemons are all citrus and chock full of vitamin C. The C in them is makes the fruits so good for you. You need vitamin C for all kinds of bodily processes and for your immune health, which is what keeps your skin looking healthy.
  3. Nuts – Almonds, walnuts, and other nuts contain vitamin E, the compound known for healing scars and abrasions. Vitamin E keeps your skin young and healthy-looking by allowing it to heal infections and other problems. You can pour nuts over a salad, or in trail mix.
  4. Red and Green Vegetables – You can’t really beat vegetables when it comes to health food. But those that have a red-orange or green color are particularly good for you because they contain high concentrations of vitamin A. This group includes sweet potatoes and spinach.

These are some of the best foods that will help you gain a good complexion. Try to work them into your diet and take supplements of the vitamins they provide. And as always, don’t forget to wear sunscreen every day; these foods will never do any good if your skin is sun-damaged! Good luck!
